Hi, I am Agni Rajinikanth. And I agree to the fact that refugees should be accepted in European nations.

Assertion #1:

European Union as a whole should accept and handle refugees like a unified country.

Reasoning #1:

Otherwise, majority of the refugees will be struck in the same few countries which will quickly become overwhelmed which will be bad for the host countries and bad for the refugees.

Evidence #1:

A European rule was established Dublin Regulation, which requires refugees to stay in the first European country they arrive until their asylum is processed. This rule has trapped thousands of refugees in Greece and Italy because those are the two countries that are easiest to reach by sea. Many European countries has exploited this rule which caused heavy burden to those two countries on handling the refugees.

Assertion #2: Accepting large refugees might bring changes to nation’s identity and culture.

Reasoning #2:

Changes to the identity and culture is often a very good thing.

Evidence #2:

For generations, Refugees have been enriching their host nations improving everything from snack foods to their scientific discoveries.

Assertion #3:

Overcrowding at neighboring countries if not allowed inside Europe.

Reasoning #3:

Many refugees are crowded in Hungarian train stations, sleeping on the floors and sidewalks fearing of over-crowded camps. Greek shore towns are filled with refugees fleeing their countries with boats.

Evidence #3:

More than 19 million people are forced to flee their home countries because of war, oppression and persecution and 42500 more are estimated to join them every day. That’s why the refugee crisis appears to be more intense in those countries.

Hi, I am Agni Rajinikanth. I disagree to the statement that our government failed to rebuild the gulf coast after hurricane Katrina.

Assertion:

President George Bush helped in rebuilding.

Reasoning:

They started funds to raise money and give to the people who were affected by the hurricane. They also sent volunteers to help water removed from the houses and to give food.

Evidence:

George Bush gave money to the people to rebuild the houses and other property that was damaged.

Hi, I am Agni Rajinikanth. I agree to the statement that our government has failed to rebuild the gulf coast after hurricane Katrina.

Assertion #1:

The government did not save all the people there. They failed doing their job.

Reasoning #1:

They failed to rebuild the homes and structures that were destroyed and people were homeless. There weren’t enough food for people. The dams that many governments built were destroyed and collapsed.

Evidence #1:

Many people did not find or were able to get into shelters. There were less people that the shelter could accommodate than the number of people who needed it. 600,000 households were displaced. And 1.5 million people were affected and more than 800,000 citizens were forced to leave out of their houses.

Assertion #2:

There was an economical dropdown.

Reasoning #2:

Many people lost their money. It was washed away by the flood, soaked up. This caused many people to be bankrupt and face poverty.

Evidence #2:

Many people’s homes were flooded up till the attic. The houses were destroyed so the money was lost.

Pennies should be abolished

Hello all. I am Agni Rajinikanth. And I am stating that we should abolish the pennies.

Assertion #1

Pennies are useless

Reasoning #1

Only a few vending machines allow pennies. There is nothing much you can buy for a penny. Pennies are a hassle to carry. For example, instead of carrying 1000 pennies, you could carry a 10 dollar bill.

Evidence #1:

Many Americans don’t carry pennies around with them. People don’t use pennies when buying. They created the penny because in the old times, things were cheaper. Now they are not. We don’t need pennies anymore.

Assertion #2:

Pennies make government lose money easily.

Reasoning #2:

It costs our government more money to make the penny instead of what the penny is worth now.

Evidence #2:

US mint spends almost 120 million dollars to produce less than 50 million dollars of the circulating currency with nearly 5 billion pennies printed in the US. Pennies drain almost 900 million dollars from the nation’s economy each year. It costs more than 2 cents to many 1 penny.

Assertion #3:

There won’t be an economical breakdown.

Reasoning #3:

Pennies are worth less. There would be difference but not that big that would affect our economy. People would lose some money, but it won’t matter. People get money each day at their jobs.

Evidence #3:

Canada abolished and they did not have an economical breakdown. We already have experience d in getting rid of a currency: the half cent. It was not a problem.

I think we should abolish the penny for these three reasons.

Thank you

Hello, I am Agni.

Cigarette smoking should not be made illegal.

Smokers go through withdrawal symptoms.

There will be high demand for cigarettes in black markets.

Governments can no longer get taxes on cigarettes.

1 point

Hi, I am Agni Rajinikanth. I believe that Cigarette smoking should be made illegal.

Assertion #1

Smoking is highly addicts so why are they legal?

Reasoning #1

Approximately 5.5 trillion cigarettes are produced all around the world each year and about 1.1 million people or more smoke them. Cigarettes have chemical called nicotine which addicts people to use it more even though they know it is bad for your health.

Evidence #1

The inhaled substances trigger chemical reactions with nerve endings. When tobacco is smoked most of the nicotine is pyrolysis or become decomposed through heating to a high temperature.

Assertion #2

It takes out people’s lives and is a threat to our body.

Reasoning #2

Cigarette smoking fills your lung with ash and deposits toxic in our lungs and other organs and is poisoning your body. The usage of tobacco increases rates of colds, infections, diseases and other illnesses too.

Evidence #2

There are more than 440,000 deaths each year caused by smoking. People who smoke die because of cancer, houses on fire, lung diseases, respiratory disease and fetus and infant deaths. People who smoke die 10 years earlier.

Assertion #3

Second hand smoking kills people too

Reasoning #3

People will get affected by second hand smoking. For example, if smokers are close by non-smokers, the non-smokers too inhale the toxic that comes out of the cigarette which is equivalent to smoking. It gives birth disorders for infants whose moms smoke during pregnancy.

Evidence #3

Feeding Moms who smokes will pass nicotine to their infant via breast milk. Between 150,000 and 300,000 infants and children under 18 months are affected each year by lower respiratory tract infections each year resulting in 7,500 to 15,000 hospitalizations. Second hand smoker cause approximately 38,000 deaths per year.
