Hi, my name is Nithin Gudavalli and I believe that European Nations SHOULD BE required to accept refugees from Africa and the Middle East.

Assertion: Higher income countries should help out the lower income countries who are taking a much larger amount than the higher income countries.

Reasoning: If higher income countries take in more refugees, they can fund the refugees better.

Evidence: Lower income countries such as Turkey and Lebanon are taking in millions of people while countries like Great Britain and France are only taking in like a couple thousand people. If a higher income country has more refugees they can take care of them better.

Assertion: Instead of donating money, if they are required to take them in it would help the refugees better.

Reasoning: If you donate money to the refugees they don't have enough to buy shelter. They only get a little help from that money So the "we pay, you keep" deal is not really working. If you take them in, at least they have someplace to live and they can use the money to help their families.

Evidence: Even though the Gulf States have donated over 500 million dollars together, the refugees are basically the living the same lifestyle and in the same condition.

Assertion: They should be required, so that the refugees wouldn't be crammed in one place.

Reasoning: In Turkey and Lebanon, there are much more people then in the other countries. With a lot of people crammed in one place and many people have died while in these crowds. They also drown while traveling in such huge amounts of people.

Evidence: About 2,000 people have died while living among the crowd and 1,500 people have drowned to death while traveling.

Assertion: Abolishing pennies increase the price of many items

Reasoning: Once we abolish pennies from our currency every item with be bumped up a little since now they have no pennies to pay. Instead they increase to the nearest nickel. This would profit bushiness, but would be unfair to the people.

Evidence: When an item costs $5.82, since no one has pennies anymore to pay the extra 2 cents. the price would be bumped up to $5.85. Even though it is just 3 cents now, later on that would tally up to $3,00 dollars worth of loss.

Assertion: With pennies being abolished, more nickels would be required to be made to compensate which be a loss.

Reasoning: Nickels cost more to make rather than pennies and all of the money put into making pennies would also be lost.

Evidence: The cost to make a penny is 1.7 cents, while the cost of making a nickel is about 8 cents. While the difference is .7 cents for a penny the difference for the nickel is 3 cents! Also over 1 billion pennies are already made. Once you abolish pennies, the money put towards producing them is all gone. That all racks up to more than 700 million dollars lost!

Assertion: Finally, abolishing pennies would greatly affect charity funds.

Reasoning: Many programs and small donations for charity use pennies to collect their fund. Eventually, they add up to a high price.

Evidence: For example, many organizations such as UNICEF, and programs like Pennies for Patients use these pennies for their donations. The Pennies for Patients program had collected over 150 million dollars that had helped many people in danger.

Hi, my name is Nithin Gudavalli, and I believe that cigarettes should be illegal.

My first reason is that the most deaths each year are caused by cigarettes and many of the problems leading to death are also caused by cigarettes. For example, lung cancer, throat cancer, diabetes, and pneumonia. Around the world, 1.1 billion people smoke. Now out of those people at least 40 to 60 percent of people will be affected terribly. Not only, the smoker will be affected, but also his family. Second-hand smoking can also cause the problems listed above. So along with the smoker, people who live them also have a chance of being affected badly.

My next reason is that smokers spend most of their money on cigarettes. Since they become so addicting, they continuously buy them, which leads to them spending a good amount of money on cigarettes. About 1.1 billion dollars are spent on cigarettes worldwide and an average person spends about $7,000 yearly on cigarettes. All of that money they spend on cigarettes, could be used to for better reasons, such as supporting your family, paying of loans, and medical bills.

My third reason is that cigarettes also effect the environment greatly. For example, some chemicals from the factories that were making cigarettes were released into the water source nearby. This caused many animals in that lake to die and lose their homes. It also effected us because some of the chemicals helped the production of mosquitoes to grow nearby which increased the rate of malaria.

To sum it all up, smoking is very harmful to us because of all of the bad side effects it has which can cause to death. Also, it is a huge financial expense and all the money put towards it, doesn't even benefit you. Along with this, it also effects the environment badly. Stating all of these reasons, I believe that cigarettes should be illegal.
